An excellent book sequence, which I read with great pleasure in its lovely first edition when it came out. I enthusiastically give five stars to the book... but I wanted to reread it and got the Kindle edition for convenience. It is *very* disappointing: maps and illustrations are unreadable, italics in the original are missing, long names are sometimes 'hyphenated' in the middle of a line, and, most annoying, footnotes are completely missing, at least on my Kindle Paperwhite (they are available on the tablet edition.) I wish publishers would be more careful: typesetting is important, computers can do it extremely well, and there is really no excuse for such a botched job.
