Smells horrible initially. If you've ever been in a stuffy NYC taxi cab back in the 90's when people still smoked in the cab with the windows rolled up in the dead of winter with the heat blasting; that's exactly what it smells like. Right down to your cab drivers cheap musky after shave. It's just horrible at first, borderline nauseating. I dabbed it only on my wrists at first because I couldn't stand the smell so I didn't even attempt dabbing it behind my ears. After about an hour it wore down so I took a whiff of each wrist and interestingly enough, each wrist smelled completely different. Every note in the description of the scent came through. On my left wrist the sandalwood and vanilla toned down to earthy notes, almost mossy but with a musky tobacco smell, like a cowboy lol, that's the best way to explain it. Very bold and masculine. On the right wrist it was almost like a black pepper/floral. Not a sweet floral... More like a pungent wild flower. Honeysuckle for example. It also had undertones that reminds me of Hindu prayers (incense, resin, devotion oils etc)... This is why I would rate it a 4, the scent is so complex and transitional. Now, as far as the pheremone part, 100% the best I've ever used. I'm actually on a prescription SSRI and I sometimes forget to take it for a few days and when I start it again I get that euphoric rush of my hormones starting to regulate again. I had the same experience as soon as I applied the smallest dab times 10... I actually had to sit down because I was feeling a little light headed. Not sickly, just heightened senses and sensory overload. This is why I can also give this product 5 stars. They aren't kidding when they say it contains pheremones. Now, does it work on the general public as you wear it in the street? 100%! I received this item at work and got on the train to go home about 3 hours after the initial application, 2 hours after I decided to dab some behind my ears. As soon as I left work necks were breaking lol. There wasn't a person I passed in the street, both male and female, that didn't stare me down, make eye contact or lean in to catch a whiff. Mind you, I work in Manhattan! Got on to the subway platform and both genders were just congregating around me. A lot of random conversations, direct eye contact etc. This never happens on a nyc train lol... We don't talk to strangers. Some guy I always take the evening train with actually approached me and asked for directions and if the train that was coming was a local or express. He rides that same train every single day! He knows which is local and express. He was just trying to make conversation. Anyway, yea... Those are the 3 main points. Hopefully this review helped, if not, thanks for coming to my Ted talk anyway :D
