I think I investigated every bread box in the Amazon marketplace before choosing this one. I thought the prices were too high on most of the bread boxes, but the lower priced ones were the subject of many poor reviews, and were also small. This bread box has great capacity, I can easily fit a commercial loaf, bagels, hot dog rolls together within. Piano hinges will prevent any torquing of lid. The styling details make this box a pleasing addition to the counter landscape- an eggshell finish that bounces a quiet glow, while also hiding fingerprints. The lift bar is satin finish silver. The entire design is a sweet balance of vintage and modern. The white color is bone, not polar. And they wisely resisted the idea of printing "BREAD" across the face of the box! Great purchase and no regrets on the cost.
