I have a plush mattress and firm mattress, this one is in the middle, it's just right. I had a Casper Wave mattress (expensive) and it hurt my lower back. After just a few nights in this mattress my back pain went away and this was a fraction of the cost. As we all know it arrives in a box (100 lbs), you unwrap it, and watch it expand. I slept in it about 4 hours after unpacking and there was minimal smell and very comfortable. By the second night it had expanded more and was still more comfortable. As mentioned, this is not plush and it's not firm, it's in the middle. I love it!
