Killing them softly indeed
We asked the super in our building to look into the moth situation after noticing that there were a few cocoons on the ceiling. A couple of days and one inspection by an overzealous exterminator later, we were told that we had a massive moth infestation and that they would have to bomb the entire apartment, all of our stuff would have to be put in plastic, it would cost hundreds of dollars, the larvae were going to eat all of our clothes, and ISIS was on the doorstep, ready to implement sharia law in our apartment. Thinking that these claims seemed a little overblown, we ordered pantry traps and clothing traps. The pantry traps attracted several moths and the clothing traps did not. We threw away a bag of rice that had been open. No more moths. So kids... What did we learn? 1. Some exterminators are out to rip you off. B. Use these wonderful traps to figure out what kind of moths you have. 3. Don't switch back and forth between numbers and letters when making a list.
