PRO- Very nice looking gazebo
PRO- Very nice looking gazebo. It looks high quality. PRO- The mosquito netting is very thick. It's more like a plastic feel than a fabric feel. It is PVC coated. That in no way causes any visible difference compared to a fabric netting whatsoever. The zippers are made well, and attach very easily when you want a quick shield from the bugs. I think the PVC coating is what helps make attaching so easy, along with good quality zippers. PRO-There is a fitted mosquito net that comes with it to install at the top the roof on the inside, as there is a gap from the design with the pergola to let heat escape. CON-The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the fact that it is not 100% leakproof. Other reviewers have also stated this. I will have to get some silicone to seal parts of the roof where the panels have some small open areas around the seams, but this is a MINOR fix. You would think they would design the panels to be more overlapping to prevent this considering it's a hardtop shelter. I made sure to buy a model that DID NOT have the UV protected tinted polycarbonate roof panels. Those panels DO NOT HOLD UP for long at all, and become brittle and crack, and very easily damaged. Take your time and read some reviews on those models if you are considering that over steel panels. PRO-This model has steel panels, which can withstand any kind of normal hail/debris falling on it. There is no sunlight that comes through the roof. The panels are flexible steel. Very sturdy feeling. CON-This thing gets really hot! I have read reviews that it didn't get that hot, but in my personal opinion, being outside in 90-100 degree weather under this thing is pretty counter-active. It felt a good 10+ degrees warmer sitting under it during full sun. It's black steel. How could it not heat up 10+ degrees? I'm not too worried about that issue though, because I don't want to be relaxing outside under it when it's that hot. I don't think there's any way to avoid that unless you were to buy a light-colored fabric gazebo, which we've had in the past, but those things don't last. We've been through several of those in the past, as well as replacement fabric tops. They just aren't durable enough to withstand the elements over any longer period of time. Tired of wasting money year after year on those. PRO- The roof has a mini gutter all along the outer perimeter. It's designed to channel the water down the inside of the beams, as opposed to running off the perimeter of the roof on all sides. PRO-There are 2 closed-loop hooks welded at the top inside on either side of the center roof. CON-There is no option for a centered hook unless you somehow drill and install one yourself, but I'm not handy enough to try and figure that out, nor do I know if that's even a doable option. I would think that may be an issue for a lot of people wanting to install a ceiling fan or light. Either way, you will either have to forgo the mosquito net up top, or cut it to accommodate whatever you hang up there. Worth mentioning I figured. MAJOR PRO-There is a video on youtube made by Sojag showing you 2 guys putting it together. This was VERY helpful watching in advance for the 2 guys I hired to put it together. It took them right at 6 hours to put together, and I promise you it would have taken longer had they not watched the video ahead of time. I paid them $460 to install it. You definitely need 2 people to put the roof together. I guess if you're not in a hurry, you could do most of the rest by yourself, but I don't think the precision would be there without someone helping you to hold parts while you screw together. Again, just my opinion, but I'm just stating from what I saw. CON-The only part that they said was bad/hard was once you had to install the steel roof panels, they had a hard time maneuvering and screwing them in, not to mention how hot the panels became to touch while installing them. PRO- Reading recommendations from other reviews, we avoided issue with stripping screws. My installers didn't once use an allen wrench. Reviews stated the allen wrenches took way more time, and seemed to strip the screws very easily. They used the low-tork setting on their cordless screwdrivers, and everything went together perfectly. No issues with lining up holes or missing pieces. Watch the installation video in advance. This will really help familiarize you with the easiest way to put this thing together. I feel this was a real difference in the accuracy of the installation. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. It was definitely more than I wanted to spend, but shopping around and past failed gazebo purchases, I felt like this would be a good longer-lasting investment. I will update this review if there are any quality issues in the future. I hope I've helped!
