These clippers shaved a Cocker Spaniel amount of hair off my Springer/Lab mix! It's the most hair Ihave cut off of my dog in 8 years! Ha! They went through his (golden retriever type) coat like butter! My dog didn't mind the sound of the clippers (they are mildly noisy, but not bad). About halfway trough the clippers became really warm, but my pup didn't seem to notice. The clippers themself are a little on the heavy side, but the ones in this price range usually are. I don't mind the weight much, but thought I'd mention it. For the price, they did great. I've owned 2 other similar pairs of Wahl dog clippers (one cordless and one corded), I can say that the corded models have much more clipping power. The only thing I WISH this kit included was a pair of scissors. My last kit had them and were useful for trimming my dog' s ears and feet; I'm glad I kept the ones from my last set.
