Best Game I've ever purchased .
I loved The Room 1 and 2. When I started this one I was initially disappointed to find myself in a mansion, because it's the unfolding of intricate boxes that made me love the original ones. I wasn't interested in another haunted mansion escape. I should have trusted the designers. Actually... I DID trust them enough to continue and very quickly found myself facing an intricately designed pedestal. This version has all the fun of the first two, but much more to discover. And when I finally finished... it was a long way from over. There are actually 4 possible endings. You get to play through all of them, and you don't have to go all the way back to the start. You're dropped back at the point where the paths diverge, and you can search out any items you might have missed the first time through.
This game and the others in the series are a little more expensive than most, but worth it. The game play is long, but because the devices just keep unfolding, it's never dull, and there's not much time wasted in running back and forth.
The hint system is perfect. It's okay to use it, because it doesn't give you the answer. It just points you in the right direction. "Try looking for something inconsistent."
The puzzles make sense, but you have to play with them to figure them out. What happens when I turn the wheel, pull the lever, etc.
Finally it's the only game series truly designed for a touch screen. You turn knobs, pull drawers, slide panels, rotate your found items in 3 dimensions to examine and interact with them. A completely different experience from the standard point and click.
