I waited two weeks to review this percolator. I've found over the years it doesn't matter where a product is made, it's how well the company want's their product to last and perform over time. Hamilton Beach apparently has pride in their name because this heavy, well constructed pot has performed flawlessly over the past two weeks. I use bottle water kept in the refrigerator and paper filters in the basket. Cold water, as one reviewer has said fools the thermostat and the pot will perk a little longer and a hotter, richer cup of coffee. Paper filters because it's hard to find a coarse ground coffee on the market today unless you grind it yourself. I like the three prong electric plug that it comes with although it could have been a little longer, it's not a deal breaker. After putting this pot through the paces over the past two weeks I feel confident to give it a thumbs up review. I also own the Presto 12 cup pot and although it made a descent cup of coffee and is still working I wasn't as impressed with the quality of the pot or the flavor of the coffee. This Hamilton Beach reminds me of my mothers old Sunbeam electric Percolator from years ago.
