I cannot review this for plants but it works for keeping cats happy. :-) My now 15 year old cat (Kevin)and his brother (who passed away a few years ago) found my seed starting lights and would sleep under them. Kevin loved the grow lights so much that he would sleep under there often and would get really grumpy if he couldn't squeeze between the plants to sleep there during the day. He would beat up his brother and be extremely needy and vocal if he couldn't have his daily "light therapy". The vet okayed the idea of using grow lights for light therapy for my cats and for the last 7 years I have had grow lights solely for them.Now that Kevin is older and it is just him he loves to sleep under the lights all day. I wanted a smaller model than my 4 ft garage lights so purchased this one. Overall, the quality is okay and the lights are bright and put off some heat but not enough to burn anyone. My first unit burnt out after 5 months but amazon replaced it so Kevin was only without his lights for 4 days. He was very happy to have them back as you can see in the picture, which was taken a few minutes after I plugged the lights in. I am sure he would give them 5 stars if he could. I am giving them 4 since the first fixture was defective.
