I'm reading the reviews and Q & A's and wondering is this a butter dish or a thermo-nuclear reactor - LOL. IT'S A $9 BUTTER DISH, for goodness sake! Two pieces of molded glass. It comes exactly as it it shown, and is very nice. If you want one with a handle or with ridges or whatever, buy one that comes that way. Don't buy this and complain about it. (A little perplexed by the person who couldn't grasp the top because it didn't have those). A regular quarter-pound stick of butter fits perfectly (Why would they make it any other way?). If butter comes in a different size on the West Coast (I'm not surprised) buy one THAT size - dont buy this one and complain. And it you drop in and it breaks, don't blame the manufacturer or seller. Just replace everything in your house with plastic. Geez, I guess some people have just too much time on their hands (Me included, i suppose :-) ).
