Huge success! Introducing a new kitten to two older cats can be stressful. This purr monster is excellent for soothing all three of them! The sound masks the low growling and provides a humorous distraction. It also allows the kitten to relax and self-sooth while confined in a carrier, the safety of the crate, or while quarantined in a bathroom. The fur is very silky, it's nice and flat, and the purr sound is remarkably realistic. I only wish that it played for more than two minutes between activations. Just ordered a second one to have on hand. [UPDATE] Two months later... I have removed the purr boxes and washed the hair gel out of both of the monsters, and reassembled them. Kitty still adores them, and a good kneading session has become part of his bedtime routine. Have a supply of extra batteries, but haven't had to replace them yet! [UPDATE] Aaaawwww... RIP Purr Monster 2 .... Poor baby drowned in the water bowl last night... found him dead this morning after the kitty tried to share his water with his best friend! So saaadddd. Monster recovered, but he's lost his voice.... Buying a new one! Still the favorite toy!! [UPDATE] Kittie is now three years old and we STILL loves this toy. We enjoy nightly snuggle sessions, 10-15 minutes, batteries last a couple of months. Back to buy a fresh one for his birthday. The old ones still work well with fresh batteries every few months.
