Well, I am a Techie and I was looking on Amazon for a Refurbished Samsung Tab A 8.0 WiFi Tablet for a gift. However, after throughly testing it, I am keeping it for myself! I already bought my friend another gift. Personally, my experience with it has exceeded my expectations...for a Refurbished or new tablet! Now I bought this from an Amazon seller, Fulfilled by Amazon, mine arrived in the original Samsung box with all documentation, charger and Samsung carrying pouch. It looks brand new and works perfectly. My GOAL in this review is to hopefully put your mind at ease about buying this Refurbished device. However, this review reflects my personal opinions and experience. PROS: 1) Android OS---My tablet arrived with Marshmallow 6.1 pre-installed, but then it quickly updated to Nougat 7.1. 2) WiFi---My WiFi Router connected immediately to this tablet and it is a fast WiFi. The WiFi is super strong and I receive 5 bars around my home and the tablet keeps the connection even in my backyard. 3) Display---The display is very clear and colors vivid. Reading on Kindle or in a PDF Book, the text is crisp. The videos in YouTube are very clear as well. 4) Speed and Performance---For my personal use, I find do the speed and performance excellent for the things I do such as Facebook, Twitter, Internet, YouTube, Email, etc. I do not play games on this tablet yet I found all videos run very well. Performs well, no lagging and no freezing. 5) WiFi calling---I have had a Google Voice account for several years so I tried Google Hangouts for my WiFi calling and it worked wonderfully. However, I use my Samsung J7 PRO 2017 more because I have a plan with Unlimited minutes and texts. 6) External Slot for SD Card---So I installed a SanDisk 64gb Micro SD card which was loaded with my music, pictures, home videos and files. I still have 21 gb left on my SD Card. According to Gsmarena, this device holds up to 256 GB (dedicated slot). 7) Camera---I actually took some inside and outside pictures and saved them to my 64gb SD Card. The pictures are fine for sending in email or even Facebook. I was surprised as it is a OK Camera, but no flash. My outdoor daytime shots came out vivid and clear. I took my indoor shots in good light conditions so they came out gppd as well. My videos came out well. I regularly use my digital camera for more professional looking pictures. 8) Battery life and Device Coolness---Battery life I find good to very good. I watch lots of YouTube videos, Facebook, listen to my music etc. My battery starts off at 100 percent, then after one hour of heavy use it shows close to 90 percent. So I am pleased. ***Device coolness/Battery coolness---I use an app Widget free from Playstore called Battery Solo. When I press, the highest it showed me was a cool 88 degrees Fahrenheit. This is excellent and the battery a device stays cool, it never overheats. 9) I downloaded the paid App PrinterShare and I print pictures, emails, documents directly from this tablet using my HP WiFi Printer. 10) I found an excellent casr/stand on Amazon Fintie Slim Stand and I pictured the tablet with it installed below... Cons...just one con and not serious: 16gb Internal storage. After the OS and apps were installed, I started with close to 11gb. Now that I have installed all of my personal apps from the Playstore, I still have 6.1gb left, plenty of room left for more! I did NOT install games, just these: Facebook, Twitter, Google Calendar, Radar Alive Pro, Raindar, Noaa Weather App Free, Amazon Music, Amazon Kindle, WordPad, Quick Office, Turbo Scan, PrinterShare, Zedge, Storage Space, Norton Clean, and iHeart Radio Free. * Would I purchase this device over again? Yes, in a heartbeat because it is a wonderful tablet at a low cost, so I recommend it. I rate this a full 5 stars.
