I love the shape of this decanter. It maximizes the surface of the wine exposed to air and thus shortens the breathing time of highly tannic wines. I also use it simply to serve wines because I prefer not to have bottles at the table. One has to get used to the way in which the decanter pours because, at first, pouring is a bit awkward. On the other hand, adjusting to the idiosyncrasies of the vessel provides more opportunities to imbibe. All decanters, I’ve found, are a bit awkward to clean, and this one is no exception, though I’ve had few problems in that regard. The one I received was in perfect condition, no flaws of any kind. I will undoubted purchase one or two more.
