So I waited a long time to write this. After reading all the reviews of dead fish I had to. So far, no dead fish. I currently only have algae eaters ottos that couldn't keep up. So here is how they have stayed alive and what my advice is. Don't just pour it in your tank. If you do you're dumb and you get what is coming. Also if you have fish that will think it is food don't just avoid pouring it in at all. Let me explain my process. READ THE DIRECTIONS ON THE BOTTLE NOT ON HERE. Then to test under dose. So if it effects your fish they have a chance to recover. My first time I used 1/4 dose. 3 days later I increased it to 1/2 by adding another 1/4 and so on to 3/4 dose. I have not done a full dose but it still works. I have 1 gallon water bottles, I pour 1ml into a 1 gal with 1ml of stress coat, I add sink water and let it site 10 minutes. I pour that in during normal water changes, pour in one of just water and stress coat, then another with the algae fix. Diluting it this way works. My fish do not approach it so this seems to be safe. If I want to bump the dose later but not mess with the water I open the lid to my filter and pour it in there so it is not instantly introduced to the fish it instead is mixed with water. It also prevents them from approaching a concentrated dose. People are getting dead fish because they are dropping a full dose right in their face. Also they don't math at all. Yes I have a 40 gallon tank. Do I dose for 40 gallons? No! I have a good portion of it taken up by gravel, sand, plants, and rocks. I do not have 40 gallons of water I have 30. Dosing 40 gallons is overdose... if you are doing this guess what you're gonna get. So as you can see this is a product that requires thought and consideration but if you can manage to think a little you'll be fine. Don't brainlessly pour anything into your tank ever.
