Fits the Hidden Litter cat litter box!
This pan is a GREAT FIT to use inside the "Hidden Litter litter box", the round litter box that looks like a big clay planter. I was using plastic liners inside the litter box to protect it, but my cat was dragging them into the litter and it was a mess.
This pan is a little smaller in diameter than the box, which works fine for me. I put a jumbo drawstring-type liner inside, wrap it around to the underneath; fill it with some litter, put it inside the box and fill it the rest of the way.
My advice: check with local stores; see if they have it or can order it. I bought it from a local feed and grain store for much less than it would have cost on Amazon.
UPDATE: Some people have commented that they have trouble with their cat spraying and the spray collecting under the pan. I haven't had that problem (although my cat is a male), but mine is an aggressive scratcher in the box and sometimes the plastic bag liner gets loose.i found a way to keep the bag from getting torn loose - might help with sprayers too:
- get a really cheap garden hose (you want one that you can flatten easily).
- Cut off the nozzle (my ordinary Fiskars scissors cut it just fine.) Cut a length of it to fit around the inside of the round litter box, between that and the Little Giant pan. The length of this piece will vary depending on how coiled or flattened your hose is... I found that slightly over 56" worked; you might try cutting it at around 58" and tweaking it when you fit it in place.
- put it in the sun to soften it. Then flatten it as much as possible, so it's more oval than round.
- With the pan inside the litter box, force the piece of hose between the two. It takes some work. But you will then have filled the small gap between the two, and you will have tightened the plastic bag liner down too (if you use one).
This kept my litter box nice and tidy until it was time to do a complete litter change (which I do about once a month.) I'm attaching a photo to show how it looks when it's in place.
