Ironman vs Teeter / And Improve the COMFORT with SPONGES
Teeter VS Ironman Ironman wins. I purchased the TEETER (EP 860) through HSN. AND I purchased the IRONMAN IFT 4000 through Amazon. So, I am able to COMPARE the two. The BEST Teeter and Ironman incline tables are BOTH wonderful products! I believe that EVERY adult should have one! But the IRONMAN is the best VALUE, and simply the BEST selection. A highly ATHLETIC person might prefer the TEETER because one can hang freely in full inversion (i.e. 100%) while the table snaps out of the way. By contrast, for the IRONMAN, the maximum inversion is close to 95%. So, one’s back will always have at least a little contact with the incline table. The Ironman table is a little easier to return to the upright position without risking getting stuck in full inversion - because it never inverts more than 95%. The Teeter, by contrast, fully inverts and then it gently SNAPS into the fully inverted position. Therefore, to start the process of returning to the upright position, one must know enough to pull the inversion table flush with one’s back and wait - to slowly start the process of returning to the upright position. Otherwise, a novice not knowing this (and having failed to study the instructions) might dangle in full inversion until help arrives. People complain about the COMFORT of the lower leg/ankle clamps of BOTH company’s BEST inversion tables, but the COMFORT for BOTH company’s inversion tables can be EASILY dramatically improved by sandwiching SPONGES (or equivalent cushions) below and over each ankle. I use: “QEP XL All Purpose Sponges.” These are available at Home Depot AND thru Amazon. It is a little harder to sandwich-in sponge cushions for the Teeter because the Teeter’s ankle clamps do not separate as much as in the Ironman. So, some trial and error practice is required for the Teeter. I have serious concerns about the worthlessness of some of Teeter’s accessories: “acupuncture nodes” which attach directly to the table!; a hard plastic, variable: “lumbar support” – that hurts! These do NOT work. And persons who purchased Teeter’s Inversion Boots are not happy with those either –read the reviews. The Teeter incline table is made of hard plastic, which IS comfortable enough (provided that you do NOT try to use the variable plastic “lumbar support”). By contrast, the Ironman comes with a memory-foam covered table, which is SUPER comfortable. Both are wonderful, but the Ironman is BY FAR the better VALUE.
