I can't understand why people keep referring to this as a "beginners amp". Why? Because it's small and is usually part of a beginners package? I've bought and played so many overpriced small amps with all the effects and this and with that and they just sound tinny and boxy. Small amps need a 6 inch speaker. Out of the box it felt very solid and obviously built well. The controls are responsive. I don't use the overdrive at all. I use this when I'm sitting around on the couch watching football or something..I always need to be noodling around on guitar and this Fender just works. I do hook up a Delay and Tremolo pedal and that really makes it sound nice and full. It's small but it can get loud and it sounds pretty good but that's not what I use it for. I use it so that I can have true Fender amp sound wherever I go and not have to settle for one of those "mini amps" that cost $39.95 and sound like a toy. My opinion is, if you need a small quality amp to drag around on vacation or to a friends house or just to play on when you're getting creative..can't go wrong here for 60 bucks!
