Not All Grease Is Created Equal
We have a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) who is allergic to most proteins with the exception of mutton. Since it is such a fatty meat, I boil the ribs in order to melt some of the fat off. A month ago I had a pot on the ceramic cooktop and forgot about it. I was in my study getting some research done when Dante (the aforementioned dog) started barking at me to convey some type of message. Given that I only have less than 50% of my hearing, I failed to hear the sounds of the pot boiling over and catching fire. When I got up to check on what Dante was trying to tell me, I could see smoke coming out of the kitchen. Needless to say, the smoke alarms went off, the security company called, and I had to air out the house to clear it of the burned mutton smell. I thought that I did a pretty good job until I looked at the cooktop and tried to clean it up. If you have a ceramic cooktop you know that you can't use strong chemicals or abrasive materials on it. So I spent hours trying to clean it up without damaging the surface. I obviously didn't do a very good job. When The Queen (my lovely wife) came home, her first question was "what did you burn?" When I explained what happened, she kissed the dog and sent me to the doghouse. While in the doghouse I did some research and found that the Cerama Bryte Cooktop Cleaner was designed for this type of problem. I ordered it, she used it, and now I'm back in the big house again. This kit has everything you need to clean up an epic mess like the one I made. Highly recommended.
