Rarely if ever do i write reviews on things i buy but i felt compelled to write one about this speaker as i know alot of people might be skeptical about the price. I had researched this speaker a few weeks before it was due to hit the shelves and initial testers gave rave reviews. So i couldnt wait till it came out on the 20th! So the 20th comes around and i head to Best Buy to demo the speaker. I press the play button, turn the volume up and am blown away bby the sound quality, clarity and bass! I listen to it for a few minutes on their demo song and then my decision i made. So i ask to buy and the sales rep says there is only one left! So i hurridaly tell him ill take it and i rush home elated with my purchase and eager to test it out it in te comfort of my own home! 1. Unboxing is farily easy and upon seeing the speaker i am pleased by the aesthitics of it. Simple but beautiful. BTW, this this is heavy! Solid and well built! It comes with the power cable and an ethernet cable in case your wifi is not stable. 2. Connecting to my wifi was a breeze! I downloaded the SONOS app on both my ipad and andriod phones. It found my wifi, i enter the password, it connects, downloads and update then i am off and running. Setup could not be easier! And for testing purposes i had this set up on my kitchen island. The SONOS app has many different music services you can connect to it which is awesome in itself. 3. The true test. I connect my Pandora account and selected a Smooth Jazz Christmas channel and hit Play Now. What followed next made my ears melt. The easy lows, the crisp highs! Hearing every single instrument in the ensemble! My ears rejoice and i instantly feel more holiday spirit! For the size of this speaker the sound it puts out is absolutely amazing even at high levels. I turned the volume all the way up and everything was still crisp and precise. I switched to instrumental hip hop. Once again my jaw drops. Now dont except this thing to give you the bass response of a 12in subwoofer connected to an amp, but the low bass it puts out is stunning. This was proved once again when i played some dubstep on it. The bass punched my stomach and snares made my eyes tear up. Nex up, some Al Green. It felt like the man was singing right there in the room with me. Once again, i feel every note, every tone. From pianos, to sax, to bass, to vocals, highs lows and all in between, this beauty shines! So just to be sure i wasnt going crazy, i invited a friend over to get his opinion on it. He put on some Michael Jackson, a song from his last album. He used the Line in to connect to his phone. The look on his face when the sound came out was priceless. As was mine. As complex as MJ's songs could be you heard everything! He listened to it for about an hour and is now going to buy two to put in stereo mode lol. He would have gone to Best Buy that night but all Best Buy's were sold out! So in my conclusion, if you are on the fence about this speaker because of the price i do understand. But believe me, after bringing it home and giving it a test run i can say this is not going back. Purchase it and give it a try. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed! Across every realm of music i tried i had nothing but a smile on my face. Oh! We even tried a movie on it as well played through my Plex app connected to Line in and the clarity was also amazing!
