I pre-ordered this for my daughter's 9th birthday, at least a month ago. I'm glad I pre-ordered since people are buying these and selling them for WAY more money than they're worth. Definitely a great toy for $60, but absolutely not worth $200. Before you start the magical process, make sure to have all the little packages open and ready to go, in the correct order. You do not want to be tearing things open or looking for something once you get started. We had a little trouble getting it to work because we didn't count correctly, and there are 7 sequences that have to be exactly right for it to work. If you lose track during these sequences you have to turn it completely off and start over. Needless to say, we had to start over a couple times which was fine, but my daughter was convinced it wasn't going to work, and that caused a few tears. BUT...when we finally got it right, and it started misting, it was AWESOME. The potion (water) that you pour in disappears and when you look through the mist, into the cauldron, your little Mixie is there waiting. It's wild! It wowed my husband and I, and we aren't normally wowed by toys anymore. Not to mention, the pure excitement and joy that it brought our daughter when it finally worked. So remember, have everything prepared ahead of time, and don't lose count during those 7 sequences. I hope this helps save some tears.
