It took me a while to purchase these, partly because of the higher price compared to other solar lanterns, partially because they were repeatedly out of stock. But that should tell you something. They are in demand, and they are worth it. They are a nice large size and have a substantial "ambiance" presence. The flame effect is not too fast, in my opinion. While the brightness is more decorative - you would need a half dozen of these to light an area for visibility - for ambiance they are PERFECT. It's just the right touch. Interestingly, the flame effect looks the best when the lantern is viewed at an angle and not straight on, because the effect gets reflected by the acrylic panes of the lantern, making it even more natural. These charge with a nice large solar panel array on the top, and their charge seems to last all night. I've had quite a few late nights and the lanterns are still going after 7 hours in the dark. I'll be purchasing more of these… as soon as I can afford it.
