After reading reviews and doing my homework I chose the Thetford Portable toilet for my van conversion and I could not be happier. My choice was based on Quality, Customer Service, Price Point and ergonomics. The quality of Thetford PTs is bar none the best. I tested several brand names and Thetford was the winner by far. Thetford has a long history of having superior customer service; having used CS I can honestly say it is one of the best I’ve dealt with, in general. Price Point is completely reasonable with all that goes with this purchase. Ergonomics: this unit is one of the tallest in its category. That is a lifesaver if you have any knee issues; it genuinely is comfortable. Finally, an this is something you don’t know until you get it, use it and wait. I am not paid for saying this but I have never, not once had any odors whatsoever. I am, like my late mother, a hound. I smell everything. This was one of my biggest concerns but since I travel and am offgrid for 2 weeks or more, I had to have something. Going out n nature is ok if you’re on a hike etc. but when it’s 2am, 28 degrees outside and pitch black, I’m not going to go do my business next to a bush outside. At 55 and with some mobility issues that is just not an option. This has been a lifesaver. It’s super easy to use, very easy to keep clean and slides away easily under a built in seat. I highly recommend the Thetford 365 portable toilet. I’m adding to this because I think it’s important to say that I do use Walex drop in packets each time I empty the tank, rinse and Lysol the entire outside of product. I add 1/2 water in top tank, pop a Walex “drop in” packet, give a couple “flushed” for water to get the Walex product going and that’s it.
