Freeze Your Clothes In CARBONITE...
I took clothes from 5 large 20gal rubbermaid bins and they now fit in 1, mostly. I use a vacuum sealer for food so I would consider myself well versed in the black art of watching air being sucked from plastic bags. Same general principle only with shirts I no longer fit into but can't throw away because some day I will get in shape again. The amount of reduction you get in size really depends on how uniformly and flatly you pack them. I shoved clothes in like someone was coming to murder me and I had to hit the road. Results were still awesome vacuum flatness. The "plank," if you will, of clothes is pretty rigid so if you made some weird shape, based on how you stuffed the bag, you probably won't wind up with nice uniform stack-able planks. Not a major deal but I wound up not being able to nicely store the bag with my jackets.
