So much fun for a 7 year old!
My 7 year old REALLY wanted this for his birthday. The activities are very age appropriate for him and even still require adult assistance. I love that it helps him gather his supplies and work on his sequencing, reading and math skills as he follows the experiments. The toy itself though is designed for younger kids. The height would be correct for most 3-5 year olds (see photo), but a 3 year old certainly could not do the experiments without a lot of help. There is just an age discrepancy between the toy height and the ability to carry out the activities/experiments. Nevertheless, my son loves it and asks to do experiments every day! Before I bought it, I had asked a question about what supplies I would need so that I could have everything ready to go when he unwrapped his gift. I did not get an answer, so I will leave a list here in case anyone runs into this dilemma. Baking soda (large box) Food coloring Dish soap Vinegar (a lot) Salt Pepper Fuzzy sweater Marshmallows Toothpicks Modeling clay Coins Dice Lego Cheerios Cotton balls Hair conditioner White glitter Corn syrup Chocolate syrup Shaving cream School glue Saline eye solution Gummy worms It is a lot of fun! I love that the lab tray is deep enough to catch spills and overflowing bubbles (see photo). He also got the Tornado Tower and loves it, too.
