Having used the "pink colored" Conair set (Xtreme Instant Heat with heated clips) for years, I wasn't sure what to expect with these rollers. For comparison's sake, these are slightly larger overall in diameter than the pink set. The retractable cord is AWESOME (everything should have one, right?) . . . The heat-setting dial is okay, but most likely you'll just pick a level and leave it there. My dial is somewhere around 10 on a 1 to 12 scale. The biggest upgrade from the pink rollers though are the clips and the bag for them! Much better for travel, more compact, hold well, and I find they leave less "dents." I actually had replaced the clips from the pink ones just because that was such a problem (see Conair Hot Roller Super Clips, White). I use hot rollers almost every day. My old set still works, but the lid got smashed during travel a few years ago, so it was time to replace them.
