Bought as a gift for my husband. I now rank "best wife ever" :-) Item must be assembled. It arrives in a large but flat box, about 3" deep you must solder the pieces together. We have owned this still for almost 3 years now end it still works perfectly. It is easy to clean and maintain. We couldn't ask for a better product. Just keep in mind that you will need some extra pieces to put it together but nothing a quick trip to the hardware store can't fix.
