After agonizing about spending this much on an ironing board, reading HUNDREDS of reviews, getting a bent leg on another brand and returning it, and complaining to Amazon about the phony reviewer "jaims", I bought the smaller 22mm board. It is WONDERFUL! Because Amazon lumps all the reviews together for the Brabantia boards, I will attempt to clear up a little confusion for prospective buyers. The 22mm and 25mm refers to the diameter of the tubing on the LEGS. The 22mm is .89 inches in diameter and the 25mm is .96 inches in diameter. Both sturdy but the 25mm is stronger and sturdier. The 22mm has an IRONING SURFACE width of 15 inches, which I prefer, and is about 3-4 pounds lighter than the 25mm, which has a width of 18 inches (which is VERY wide). BOTH ironing surfaces are about 49" long. Let your individual preference/ironing needs dictate! My board did NOT come with the Red Ball pictured, nor did it have a black handle on the height adjusting lever as one of the pictures seems to show. The "feet" have rubber caps on the ends, so they do not slip on hardwood floors or tiles. The heavy-duty steel iron rest is welded on, does not move, but also does NOT interfere with replacing the cover, and has black silicone strips that are highly heat resistant. The rest works evenly from either side. Some pictures seem to show the rest being bolted to the ironing surface, but that is actually a sewn-on LOGO label on the cover! The foam/viscose padding is thick and seems perfect. The board is all white powder-coated painted steel, and can be height adjusted to about 39", plenty high enough for you tall folks, and since it has seven different levels from sitting on up, it is perfect for anybody. The quality and attention to detail is evident throughout. The only plastic part is the leg-locking mechanism that holds the legs in place when folded completely. The cover has a tensioner to keep it taught at all times. This would have been a 5-Star review, but there is a VERY slight skew in my board due to the legs being slightly off center. This will not hinder the performance, but is NOT perfect, which, after all, is what 5 Stars should be, RIGHT FOLKS? I bought the 15" wide model because a narrower board gives me more flexibility (like if I want to iron my tee shirts), blouses ladies? It is also a little bit lighter and easier to carry/handle. A hundred dollars doesn't buy perfect 100% of the time, and THIS is a real review! Hope it helps! ^o^
