If you're looking for self cleaning cat boxes I imagine it's because you are tired of the smell and the inconvenience. This checks off all the boxes. Is the the fanciest thing in the world? No. Does it work? Yes. It's made of plastic, yes- some of the reviews on here act like they promised a marble cat box or something. It's only $85 which is nothing compared to some of the automatic cat boxes that aren't effective, get poop stuck in the gears and break down easily. It's rather tall so take that into consideration. Unless you have a big bathroom I doubt you could fit two of these in there comfortably. But with the lid I'm less worried about these being out in an open space. My cats peed near the grate and some of the lumps got stuck which meant I tipped it back over and shook most of them loose and the one that wouldn't break loose I used the car scooper to loosen it. It wasn't gross, and it wasn't a big deal. Some of these reviews really are dramatic. This thing gets the job done and makes it infinitely easier to clean the littler box.
