I'd love to give this mug the 5 stars it deserves, but lets face it; there's something wrong with it that we all seem to look the other way on: The lid; it doesn't seal. In every other aspect, this mug is 5 stars. It really lives up to the hype and I was always shocked as to how cold my drink was for the first two weeks of ownership. Simply wonderful. It performed better than my Hydroflask 18. However, I use this one for lounging around the bed watching TV. It'd be best if this would seal like my Hydroflasks or Contigo mugs so that I can just not worry about it. But as it is, I have to treat it like a normal cup with the ability to spill. I have found something that enhances the performance of this cup however! Klean Kanteen Pint Lid That lid actually fits this mug. Not precisely, but well enough. It doesn't seal the mug either. If you were to tip it over, it would still piddle all over the place like a newborn puppy. So why get it? Well first; it has a straw hole for you straw lovers. Also, it does seal well enough to keep sand, dust, and bugs out while camping or outdoors. Also it does seal the mug well enough to actually improve temperature retention. I don't have anything other than my subjective opinion on this, but I have notice my drinks retain more cold bite (even when nearing empty) because the movement of air from the cup is almost non-existent with this semi-sealed lid. So for a few bucks more, this tumbler can keep drinks even colder for longer. I wouldn't hold my breath for a sealing lid either. If we sealed our cold sodas or beers; the carbonation would create a geyser type effect when opened. Or the lid would just pop open slightly making it even worse because you'd treat it like its sealed, when its not. Also...don't pay $60? Its MSRP is $30.
