Want a tough compass that gets the job done without breaking the bank? This one is for you!
Pro's: - Tough metal construction - Magnifying lens & leveling bubble help you get an accurate bearing - Glow in the dark bezel Con's: - Somewhat heavy compared to plastic compasses This compass is designed to be like compasses used in the military. So, it is built to be tough. Its all metal construction just makes it feel much heavier duty than my other plastic compasses. It makes this compass seem like it would be a really tough tool to break. When taking a bearing with this compass, you use the sighting line and peer through a magnifying lens at the base to magnify the bearing. This makes it much easier to get an accurate reading, because the magnifier helps you to see the bearing so much better. Accuracy in a compass is important, and this feature helps tremendously with user accuracy when taking bearings. Another feature I like is the bezel is fully glow in the dark. Allot of cheaper compasses do not have this feature. It is really nice to be able see and navigate with this compass in the dark, and you can do that with this compass. The only downside to this compass is that it is somewhat heavy compared to my other plastic compasses. This is to be expected since it is metal. You can't have the tough metal construction and still be lighter than plastic. So, I don't take any stars off for this. Overall, I highly recommend this compass to you. * If you found my review helpful, please hit the like button below. Thanks so much and happy trails! *
