This thing really works! I caught 2 mice the first night! I have used other metal live traps in the past, when we had runaway pet rats and while they worked, I dreaded setting up the trap because it was a pain! This trap is the perfect size for small to medium rodents and the trap is well constructed and sets with ease! I put this right on my kitchen counter and placed paper towel on the floor of the cage to cover the wire bottom and metal foot plate. Placed pringles smeared with peanut butter and sunflower seeds..few outside the cage and few inside leading up to the bait hook which I placed a juicy piece of pineapple on. Turned the lights off and went to bed. Heard the trap door close around half an hour later. Caught my first mouse! Let that little guy out in the woods and reset the trap. Part of me hoping my rodent situation was one and done but knowing that was probably wishful thinking. In the morning there was another little guy chilling in there eating pineapple! I hope his friends didn't come out and see him trapped and wise up to the trap I'll be setting for them (I really don't know how smart mice are.) Anyways, I am extremely happy with this mouse trap and I might purchase one for the basement as well. But really I'll probably just run this one back and forth upstairs and downstairs because I'm pretty cheap. But honestly I would have even paid more for this thing because it works really well! I imagine this will get a lot of use and it seems as though it will hold up.
