Cancels screechy noises like the broken A/C at work. Not the best headphones I've used or the quietest earplugs, but still an excellent combination at an excellent price, and easily a "5 star" value in this price range. The sound was kind of dead but this was easily fixed with the equalizer in my phone. Since making that adjustment, they sound every bit as good as any pair I've used, even much more expensive models from other manufacturers. I paid for these and didn't get anything for free or cheap and if they sucked, I'd happily say so, but they don't. They're awesome.
