After reading all the reviews of the Anchor Hocking storage jars and the glass chipping, I purchased a couple of these and immediately purchased some clear silicone from my local hardware store. I put a bead of clear silicone around the top edge of the jar and a bead around the lid, and spread it along with my finger where the glass comes in contact with each other. Very easy product to use and give a peace of mind to use the containers for food storage. I found the silicone in the paint aisle.
