The desk came packaged really nicely. All of the pieces were separated and we had all the pieces we need to put it together. For those of you who have put together furniture at home you know how important this is. It was relatively easy to follow to put it together as well. The desk I purchased came with both the light as well as the book stand. There seemed to be some confusion in previous reviews as to what it came with it. In addition there were some consumer complaints about the light and how the only way to turn it off was to unplug it. They apparently have added a power button feature which I included a picture of, where you simply push the power button repeatedly to brighten the lamp and then hold down to turn off. So far so awesome!
