GOT JUICE???
When doing my research, I was pricing both Standby and Portable generators. With an average quote of $15K for the standby and $1,800K for the Portable, including installation...the choice was obvious. What wasn't initially obvious, is that Standby generators, are not really able to do the entire house and have their limitations as with any other system. You still have to be selective as to what it is that you wish to run and operate. This is were the math comes into play. With nearly 13K of peak power, this unit can literally handle the entire house and do so...with many issues. I f you keep things basic, you can run the entire house and even spoil yourself by having all of the room lights and outlets functional. I also love the real world flexibility of the dual fuel option. The gas tank is large but with exception of packaging purposes and or some government restrictions, there is no reason it's 8.4 gallons and not 10.0 gallons. Why not make it 9.99 gallons? The propone system burns a bit quicker than the fuel...so be aware of that and the gasoline will cover a solid 8 to 10 hours, depending on electrical demands. I recommend running Ethanol additive blocker and protector. This will prevent the carb system and lines, from having any issues and running properly. I also recommend synthetic 10/30 (1.2 quarts) motor oil and during the break in period, change the oil after its first full tank of fuel. I also suggest, sticking a magnet to the oil drain plug and keeping it there for the life of the unit. This will alert you to any potential issues...but also keeps normal break-in process and wear, from being circulated in the oil. So get it...and you will not be disappointed.
