***NEW INFORMATION*** I've tried 50+ water bottles. None of them are as good as this. The bottle has a mixed history of reviews here on amazon, but the latest version is awesome. I live in Colorado, so I contacted the company and asked them about the bad reviews. Some people said the plastic threading cracked. Other people said it was too big to fit in a cup holder. There were a couple more, but I don't care because Eco Vessel addressed all of them in this latest version. In the fall of 2014, they re-tooled their manufacturing and made a completely new version of this bottle to address common feedback/complaints. It took a few months for vendors (including Amazon) to sell through old stock, but it looks like they're shipping the new version at this point. Eco Vessel replaced the plastic threading with stainless steel so it won't crack, they replaced the plastic straw with silicone (YES!), and the shrunk the diameter of the bottle so it would fit into more cup holders. I still wouldn't say *all* cup holders... but if this doesn't fit in a cup holder, it's the cup holder's fault. Seriously, I have non-insulated coffee mugs that are fatter than this bottle. It's everything I was looking for in a water bottle. Here's my extremely picky list: 24oz+ Leak-proof Must be insulated so it doesn't sweat and keeps cold drinks cold Easy, one-hand open Fits into most cup holders Stainless Steel - no plastic - not even BPA-free If it has straw, it must be silicone...not plastic or even BPA-free plastic Durable enough to be used daily and dropped Loop for a carabiner or other attachment to a hiking pack Less than $30 while still using quality materials Mouthpiece must be comfortable and not smell weird Easy to clean I'm happy to say that this bottle actually meets all of those requirements at this point. In fact, in my 30+ hours of research, it's the *only* bottle to do this. I'm more than happy with my purchase. This thing is awesome. If you have the older bottle with an actual defect, the plastic cracking was the most common issue, email a picture to Eco Vessel's customer support and they'll send you a free bottle from this latest re-tooling.
