This was an easy choice for a Kindle First Reads book. Two established authors collaborating made me certain that it would be an entertaining read. I was not disappointed. It is a short and fast paced book that surprisingly contains a good amount of character development. Told from three different viewpoints, the story gets increasingly more interesting as the various personalities reveal themselves. The story illustrates that, despite best intentions, moments of weakness can occur especially when there is a strong physical attraction. Unfortunately, depending on circumstances and the reactions of others, those weak moments can have devastating consequences. Nothing in this book requires one to suspend disbelief and both the actions and the dialogue ring true. This is a stand alone book with a strong ending. The plot kept me guessing until close to the end. It’s a really engrossing police procedural and recommended for those who enjoy a mystery.
