Ohhh, Emmmm, Geee! This is great!
The positive ratings for the Wagner 518080 Spray Max prompted me to purchase this tool for use for painting my kitchen cabinets. I am grateful for the insight offered by so many reviewers as I followed the advice and my cabinets look professionally painted. That is a comment I hear from visitors so it's not only my opinion.
This sprayer is easy to use and as it's been said before, a few light coats are superior to a heavy handed application. Also, I cannot stress strongly enough the benefit of prepping. In other words, the steps I used to get the professional results I obtained are: clean (I used TSP); sand; tack cloth; paint; sand; tack cloth; paint; sand; tack cloth; paint. Of course, complete drying between coats is of utmost import as well. Yup, it's not for the faint at heart OR for the impatient sort but trust me, the rendered results will be spectacular. One more thing...In my opinion, it is SOOOOO worth it to use superior paint. I am a Sherwin Williams devotee and I used their new Pro Choice Alkd. The complete curing takes at least 30 days (although you can re-install your cabinets/drawers when fully dried). Also, my pals at SW thinned it for me, but I also added some water...just a smidge.
Prior to starting this undertaking, I had anxiety and possessed a huge fear of destroying my cabinets. They weren't awful to start and I'd seen some pretty scary paint jobs. To alleviate my apprehensiveness, I had to trust myself and took the time to prep correctly. I urge you to do the same if you're painting cabinets. The end results will be sensational and hopefully you'll not only have gorgeous cabinets, but a tremendous sense of accomplishment. If I can do it....so can you!
