but I found out that I don't like infrared grilling
I bought this grill to replace a Char-Grill Grill-2-Go X200 infrared grill. The Char-Brill was an OK product, but I found out that I don't like infrared grilling. At first, I bought the Weber Q1000 because of the lower price, but I learned that some features I wanted were missing, something the description did not highlight or even mention. So, I returned the Q1000 and bought this. This one has everything I want and more. It has a thermometer in the lid, fold out side tables that are quite sturdy, a battery operated igniter (rather than one that does not need a battery - (I've never had any luck with those.). The top and bottom are made of cast aluminum which makes it rust free, has a convenient and inexpensive grease drip system using disposable aluminum trays that slide in place under the grill, and it comes with a five year warranty, I'm very happy with it.
