This lovely quilt set is one of my best purchases
I already own two expensive, high-quality quilt sets from The Company Store. However, I recently adopted a second cat and the favorite past time for both cats is play wrestling, especially on the my bed while the other one is trying to take a nap. Because their claws dig in to fabric easily, I didn't want to keep one of my expensive quilts on the bed. So I began a search for a new quilt that was not as expensive as one from The Company Store, yet nice enough to meet my decorating standards. I was very, very happy to find this set for such a great price, and the wonderful reviews convinced me to give it a try. I must say this is one of the best purchases I've made because of the value, quality, and suitability! Pros: Quality - This quilt is better quality than the quilts I saw at department stores like Kohls, JC Penney, Dillards, etc. (and yet it's cheaper!) Colors - The range of colors means that almost any color of sheets will match nicely. Also, the colors are all nice shades that go well together. Great for pet owners - The multi-colors mean that pet hair doesn't show up. Durable - The stitching is tight and the fabric is good enough to withstand cat claws. And should they ever be able to tear it in a spot, I can sew it without it being too obvious. Construction - One tricky thing about quilts (especially machine made) is that they don't always line up well as far as squares being evenly attached. This quilt is even and cleanly sewn. All the squares match up evenly. Weight - It's a good year-round medium weight. Cons: Size - I bought the full/queen set for my pillow-top queen-size bed, but it doesn't drape as far on the sides as shown in the photo. I'm fine with that as I have a bedskirt, but you should be aware that to have the draping as shown in the photo you might have to order up to king for a queen bed. One glitch - After I washed and dried it, I noticed that there was a broken needle stuck in the fabric in one spot. Thankfully I saw it and pulled it out before anyone sat on it. Sham fabric - As someone else already noted, the fabric on the back of the shams is slightly thin. It still seems sturdy, so I'm not concerned, but it's good to know ahead of time.
