The stainless steel pet watering fountain for cats has worked out well for our cat, Tiger. He initially seemed to be afraid of it, but eventually he started playing in it as he always has with his regular watering bowl. Once he was comfortable playing in the water, he started drinking from it and now he prefers it over the watering bowl. The fountain came with all the required parts including one filter. After doing a quick hand-wash, I had to reposition the pump holder and insert the pump with the sponge inside the pump holder. The pump has little suction cups on the bottom to hold it in place and they seem to stick pretty firmly. The last steps were inserting the pre-soaked filter in the filter housing, filling the bottom reservoir, attaching the top to the reservoir and connecting the fountain to the outlet. The entire initial set-up took about 10 minutes. The flow-control in the upper part of the unit is simple to adjust and the maximum setting does not cause unwanted splashes or overflows. I've been leaving ours at the maximum setting at all times. The unit is very quiet. The only time I have noticed it being noisy was when it started to run low on water. All I had to do was pour water into the top and let it run into the bottom reservoir and it was quiet once again. I think this is an excellent product and may even encourage your pet to drink more water. The only potential negative is the need to purchase replacement filters. It's something you need to take into consideration when deciding whether to purchase the fountain.
