Can't say enough about this unit. I had a very old Seal-a-Meal that died after about 20 years or more. Some of the nice features: You can stop the vacuum to avoid squishing the food but still seal the bag. It will vacuum seal completely, just a little, or not at all -- just seal. You can re-seal a potato chip or pretzel bag (and less snacking that way :-). I use it to seal the bag of brown sugar so it doesn't dry out. I buy frozen fruit for smoothies and the bags can be resealed. I buy the pint-sized FoodVac bags which are very cost effective and seal single serving leftovers. It's so useful I leave it out on my counter all the time. I measure dry ingredients for chocolate chip cookies and seal them for future, quicker baking. Highly recommend this unit.
