Good for damage from relaxer or braiding
I have not seen many reviews from women of color on how this works for hair so I decided to write this. I'm a black woman and have had my hairline damaged by relaxers over the years. I got burned really badly. The damage is mostly on the right side of my head while my left side still looks OK. I've also braided my hair alot and listened to all kinds of advice on how to get my hair to grow back. No hairdresser could help me. I had almost given up until I found out about emu oil, and how it stimulates hair follicles to start growing hair again. So I decided to give it a try. MY gosh! It' been a couple months and I just started noticing how much my hairline is starting to look even on both sides. My right side is filling in nicely! It took me a while to realize it because I decided not to obsess with it (I know, not normal). I guess I didn't expect much since I had tried so many things. I read it was safe, so I just applied it and moved on. I wish now I had taken before/after pictures. I just put a SMALL amount and massage it into my scalp every other day. Don't plaster on too much, just a little is needed. I massage my scalp for a few min to increase blood flow and make sure emu oil is absorbed. Just so you know, I've started texturizing my hair as well. I find the relaxers a bit too strong for my scalp. So I put texturizer in my hair, then leave it in longer than the few min on the instructions so it pulls out alot more kink. Turns my hair really straight and it looks relaxed. I've also gotten into oil treatments. I mix cayenne pepper with castor oil and paste it generously into my whole scalp. Then I put coconut oil on my hair, rub some on my scalp where I already have castor oil mix, wrap my whole head with plastic and leave it on a few hours or overnight. Then wash my hair as usual. I do this once a week. But I've been more consistent with the emu oil than anything else. Try it, you've got nothing to lose. It's natural and likely won't cause anymore damage than you may already have. 2-4 times a week should do. Keep this up a couple months. If nothing grows, your follicles may be really dead. I was bald at the front for nearly 10 years and I'm really happy this worked. If you don't like it for your hair, you can always use it on your skin. Heard it's great for face care. Either way, you likely won't waste your money on this product.
