My review won’t say verified because the bottles I have now I purchased from Sephora. I just came here to look at the reviews and make sure this wasn’t a rip off version. So if my store is out or I can’t make it there I have a back up.
But this review is because I saw a review say harsh chemicals and I felt like enlightening whom ever cares to know.
No these actually are not harmful chemicals. Yes they are chemicals, but there is good and bad. I know this because I’ve been on a natural skin care journey for a few years now. I’ve purchased and made my own skin moisturizer using essential oils. And where I don’t feel like making my own or low on a certain oil I purchase products.
I love this product and here’s why... hopefully my research and knowledge can help you.
Propanediol is a corn oil.
PPG-24- glycereth is an emulsifier. Basically it’s a water soluble chemical that helps allow water and oils to mix. Water being the first ingredient you will need an emulsion product that will allow the products to mix. Glycerin is another emulsion *and the 4th ingredient* oil but it has a moisturizing effect to it. (I own an entire bottle of vegetable glycerin that I use when mixing my own essential oil moisturizer with water being my first ingredient)
3-o-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is your vitamin C. It is a derivative of L- Ascorbic Acid which is the scientific name for Vitamin C. L-Ascorbic is unstable where as Ethyl Ascorbic is stable. You want the stable one.
Don’t trust me? If you have a true Vitamin C bottle and the color doesn’t darken over time it isn’t true Vitamin C. Also if it’s label ingredient says Vitamin C vs L-Ascorbic Acid it may not be true Vitamin C. Even the lowest amount added they color will still darken.
Troxerutin is from a tree. It’s water soluble already and taken from fruits or vegetables.
Hexanediol is a moisture binding humectant. Humectant is a fancy word for sealing in moisture.
Buteth is a fatty alcohol. As with chemicals there are good and bad, what I’ve just listed and explained and there are good and bad alcohols. The bad ones are drying. PPG-26-Buteth-26 is a combination of compounds that form a fatty alcohol. You want the fat especial if you have dry skin.
You all know about Castor oil and I can continue on but there’s a lot more and you get the just of it.
So yes I recommend, I hope I helped and enlightened others.
NO I do not work for them I just like to share my knowledge of things. I hate misinformation.
