Bought this to replace one of another brand that has been in use for years. The issue with the old set is that it sounded off at everything and anything, tree branches, squirrels, the neighbors vehicles going in and out of their farm road, whatever. Also, the old sensors were originally mounted on trees, and unfortunately the squirrels though it a good idea to chew on them there, which made a couple small holes, and then the pissants moved in. The units still worked, but changing batteries was fun with the ants inside. These new ones are mounted on the back side of the brick pillars on each side of the drives where they can't be seen from the road, so the rats with furry tails (squirrels) won't bother them there. I fabricated brackets for mounting from narrow bar stock aluminum. They appear to be very well made units, and they have many user adjustable features, whereas the old system had almost none. I still need to make another sensor range adjustment, however, as we have foxes around here that set them off at night, 3:30 and 5:00 a.m. today, as a matter of fact. The only thing I don't like about this system is that the plug in power supply has a very short cord (3'), which means that you'll more than likely need an extension cord to use it
