I never stopped to think whether or not a cat would jump into a hole to do its business. I've had cats most of my life. Apparently, they don't give it a second thought. My newly adopted kitten figured it out instantly. And, yes, it works pretty dang well. It's not 100% perfect - cats still step on sticky litter sometimes. But, it's virtually impossible for cats like mine who are "kickers" to kick litter out the hole. Instead of vacuuming daily, I vacuum that area monthly now. THAT's how much cleaner this box is.
