PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING!!!
I am rating this as a 4 star product for a couple of reasons.
First the positive, we have this hooked up to our Intex 12foot by 36 inch pool. Our kids love the pool and this product does a great job of replacing expensive caustic chemicals with simple solar salt. Simple to use, very happy with the pool.
Next the negative. AND THIS IS WHY YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE WHAT YOU ARE GETTING. Up to last week, the description had an addition to it:
"Built-in GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) instantly shuts off pump if electrical current comes into contact with water"
The reason that this is now missing is because of me (your welcome) complaining due to issues that we had with our 1st unit. We purchased the unit after the 4th of July, installed it mid july, and after 4 days, the system had a low salt light. After adding more salt to the pool we went online and found out that it was not low on salt, but buildup on the titanium plates causes the system to shut off. So we called Amazon and we were mailed a replacement. This new replacement was mailed to us on July 23rd. When we opened the box it was clear this was a different model. On the product the model number for the replacement was 10CS8110. This was manufactured in 2010 and has different water sensor, display, and lacks the protection of a GFCI. I was mailed yet another replacement on July 24th and this one again was a 2010 model. I was then shipped ANOTHER one on July 25th and yep, you guessed it, again a 2010 model. I understand that Amazon has pulled their stock because the distributor was sending a mixture of models. So, if you received a 2010 model, i would call Amazon and request a new 2012 model. no reason to pay for a model that lacks some updates and safety features. You want the part number to be 12cs8110!!! It is the new model that comes with a gfci on the power cord.
