Solid running watch. In fact, perfect runner’s watch.
Ok, almost returned this watch but decided to keep it for a little while. Well, glad I did. The watch is perfect size. Light weight makes it so much easier to wear while running. Paired with run dynamics pod, it yields tons of run data. Music function works well as long as you have the right Bluetooth headphone. Again, love the design and the size of the watch. Previously I’ve owned 935, 235, 230, 620, 225. 935 was great but the watch was just too bulky for me to wear daily.
Btw, vibration alarm is very strong on this one. Which is plus as I wake up everyday for work reliably with this.
Battery life is somewhat disappointing coming from 935, but that was expected. However, I think Garmin could’ve made it better.
Update: 11/11/2018
I believe FR645 is the BEST runner’s gps watch Garmin produces today. So far the watch has been spot on on gps and as well as other data accuracy. Optical HR is consistent and have not failed once.
Final Update 1/2/19
This is it! Forerunner 645 is the best running gps watch out there. 1.3 oz only, and the watch is extremely comfortable to wear all day. Fenix 5 weights 4 oz. imagine that. Amazing runners watch. This is the winner!
LATEST UPDATE! 7/1/2020
Since the release of 645, Garmin introduced newer gps sport watches. I've tried them all. They are all great. BUT! 99% of the public will never use all the features of any of these newer watches. If your goal is to track your stats on activities and running then look no further. FR645 is it. It's light, it measures loads of running data, and it is now much cheaper. Built quality of the watch is far better than many other competitors. I will use mine for many more years.
