Simpure now has independent test that prove this little filter is awesome
Hello,
I am leaving the history of my challenges with Simpure below, but in the end, I love this filter. Today I received independent verification from SGS that the Y7 does full reverse osmosis including a 98.30 % reduction in PFOS. I am currently using this device daily and can endorse it fully. I know it has been a long road for Simpure, but I believe they always meant to do the right thing, but something was lost in translation. They now have the test results to back it up. All NSF advertising has been removed and the new product details page looks great. A filter doesn't need NSF certification to be really good, but without NSF certification an independent lab must certify what the filter removes and to what degree. Simpure now has that report from SGS. Great job Simpure you have earned the 5-star rating by being proactive and making a great product. I always loved the water filter, but without verified proof of the final result, you just don't know . We now have verified proof this little unit does a great job of keeping water clean.
I purchased this RO filter looking for an NSF-certified RO filter. This one said it is NSF certified and had great reviews so we purchased it. Received it today and ran a TDS test. My house water is running right at 400 and the filter brought it down to 50. Very good. I went to the NSF website to compare their numbers and instead found a warning from NSF that says Simpure is saying they are NSF certified but they are not. So what else are they lying about? The only way I could recommend this filter is to have an independent laboratory run tests on the final water. Unfortunately, this filter will be going back because I can’t trust a company that lies about certification. Tried to call to ask if they have any independent lab results and confront them about the NSF certification, but the phone # is disconnected. AVOID THIS PURCHASE. Amazon should remove them for this item.
UPDATE: Emailed the company through 2 different emails asking for laboratory proof of what the Y7 filters and to explain why they are lying about certification. They responded and said that they are certified under membrane solutions. Now I will go down this new rabbit hole. Stay tuned. The phone number is still disconnected. I’m trying to find any reason to keep this thing. It’s so convenient, but just because it is easy to use doesn’t mean it’s good for you and your family.
Update 2 : Simpure reached out to me and could not prove that the Y7 is NSF certified. They pointed me in the direction of their under-sink cartridge which is not the same. I asked if they have an independent lab that can verify the output of the machine they said no. They are offering to remove the advertisement that they are NSF certified since it is not true. I challenged them to get an independent lab to at least show that the unit is indeed performing RO. They said they would and get back to me. At this point, there is no proof that the Y7 does anything except reduce hardness in the water. I will change my review if and when they can prove that it does anything else. Without lab results and lying about NSF, please use extreme caution before you use this machine to give your family drinking water. We don’t know what the machine is dispensing.
Update 3: As mentioned before, the company has a agreed to remove the NSF certification. The rep from the company took my advice and they are getting certification from an independent laboratory. He said they ran internal tests that were really good, but will send results once the lab returns certified results. I told them that once I see both certified results and they remove NSF I will change my review, because I really do like the machine. I just have to know that it is dispensing safe water. Stay tuned ……..
Update 7/13/2022 - I just realized I should have been dating my updates. Sent Simpure representative an email last week asking about the independent lab results. He said that the results should be available by the end of the week. Nothing yet. Hopefully early part of this week. They still have not removed the NSF certification from their advertising. They are very aware that this is a lie and is supposed to be removed. Any further advertising of having this certification is a complete disregard to your health. Again I hope Simpures model of deception changes, until I see change, avoid this product at all costs. Your family's health is not worth the convenience.
7-30-2022 Emailed Simpur and asked again for the Independent lab results that they promised last week. Another week goes by and they have not changed their false advertising about NSF certification. Do not buy this product until the company can prove the water is safe.
8-15-2022 Big Milestone. Simpur has removed all references to being NSF certified. Congrats to them for finally advertising with the truth. Another step forward. Simpur sent me an excel spreadsheet that looks very impressive for filtering with internal tests, but it is an internal excel spreadsheet. They said that the independent lab data is coming soon. I really do hope the results are good. Like I said in the beginning, this is a great device, but it has a large cloud hanging over it from the company publishing questionable data. - I will keep everyone updated when the independent lab sends back the results.
